THE UNIQUE QUALITIES OF KLEVENER

After its merger with the Cave d’Obernai, the winery in Bestheim has become the leading market player in Alsace, extending its offerings with several new site-specific wines: Rouge d’Ottrott, Sylvaner de Mittelbergheim, Grand Cru Wiebelsberg and the famous Klevener de Heiligenstein. On June 30, 1971, the sub-regional appellation Klevener de Heiligenstein was defined by law: only wines made from Savagnin rose grown within the appellation area are entitled to the controlled appellation Vin d’Alsace or Alsace followed by the name Klevener de Heiligenstein. Bestheim is now the leading producer of Klevener de Heiligenstein, a unique site which broadens an already extensive range of growths (8 Lieux dits and 7 Grands Crus).
