Soaring to new heights

The 22nd Prowein show proved extremely successful for all members of the Gilbert & Gaillard team who met up with producers from across the globe, tasted some top-quality wines and made some amazing discoveries. From the boutique wineries to the leading international brands from Europe and the New World (even China, Japan and Lebanon took part), the world of wine showcased its myriad of styles in a cosmopolitan and friendly atmosphere.Organised since 1994 by the Messe Düsseldorf group, Prowein is a trade-only show. It takes place at the Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre and over the years has become the leading venue for market players and key influencers from the international wine and spirits trade, alongside Vinexpo.

Over 52,000 international trade visitors attended this year’s show. Over the last five years, visitor numbers have soared by 37% whilst exhibitor attendance has also shown a double-digit increase of 75%. The number of exhibitors has risen from just under 3,400 in 2011 to 5,970 this year.
